Deepali has over 20 years of work experience in trade, finance and labour migration in the public and private sectors. Her focus is policy and capacity-building, specializing in remittances and sovereign credit ratings, and informal remittances. Deepali is an economist and a lawyer, she was previously an Economic Affairs Officer for UNCTAD and a Senior Labour Migration Expert for the IOM. She has also undertaken consultancies with several organizations including the WTO, UNDP, SADC and AfcFTA, and has practised law in India and the UK.
Additionally, Deepali was a visiting fellow at the University of Cambridge (UK) and the Beijing University of International Business and Economics (China), a guest lecturer at the IMD Business School (Switzerland), University of Pennsylvania and the Government Law College (India).
Deepali holds a BA in Economics and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Mumbai (India). She also holds a Master of Laws from SOAS (UK), a PhD in Finance and Trade from the University of Zurich (Switzerland), and is a Solicitor with the Law Society of England and Wales.
