Julie is a gender and research analyst at the UNCDF Migration and Remittances portfolio, mainstreaming a gender lens across all national, regional, and global activities.

Julie previously worked at the Dutch Development Bank (FMO), studying the role of development-finance mechanisms and fintech on women’s financial inclusion and economic empowerment. She also helped develop and implement the FMO’s gender policy.

Julie holds an MSc in Economics and Governance from Leiden University (the Netherlands). She also holds a BSc in Global Management of Social Issues from Tilburg University (the Netherlands) and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (Kenya).
