The financial and health vulnerabilities of migrants and their families have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 crisis. Migrant workers and their families have not been spared from the dire consequences of rising infection rates, lockdowns, and economic downturn. Before the pandemic struck, many migrants were already part of marginalized and vulnerable groups experiencing economic difficulties in their countries of origin and host countries. Recent shutdowns and business closures have further exacerbated these hardships.
